The red cabbage is a kind of cabbage, also known as Blaukraut after preparation. Its leaves are colored dark red/purple. Red Cabbage is incredibly healthy and robust, making it an excellent component to festive side dishes and standalone meals. They're easy to prepare — simply strip off the outer leaves, wash, slice into quarters and chop or shred depending on how you're using them.
